(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Colonel Merrill Barber Twining (MCSN: 0-3862), United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Assistant Operations Officer and later, as Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3, FIRST Marine Division, in the Pacific Theater of Operations during the period from 25 June through 10 December 1942.
