The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Kenneth E. Zellmer, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot of a C-130B at Song Be, Republic of Vietnam on 4 December 1968. On that date, in the midst of a hostile rocket attack, Lieutenant Zellmer air landed a load of vitally needed supplies to the besieged United States Forces. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Zellmer reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
