The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Master Sergeant Anthony L. Wojciak, United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement in aerial flight. Master Sergeant Wojciak distinguished himself while taking part in more than 300 hours of operational flight in transport type aircraft during World War II. Although their planes were heavily laden with cargo and were unarmed, they frequently flew near enemy territory where attack from enemy ground guns and hostile aircraft was probable and expected. Nevertheless, they exhibited cool determination in carrying out their missions. Their flights were made over rugged terrain and frequently through adverse weather with a minimum of navigational aide. The skill and courage demonstrated by these officers and enlisted men reflect high credit upon themselves and are in keeping with the fine traditions of the Army Air Forces.
