The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Robert C. Weidner, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an Aircraft Commander over North Vietnam on 1 May 1967. On that date, Major Weidner by his outstanding display of professionalism in the face of hostile fire was highly instrumental in the overall success of the air operation. The results of his commendable efforts provided a major contribution to the tactical air mission in Southeast Asia. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Weidner reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
