The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant (Air Corps) Myron R. Sees, United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement in aerial flight. They distinguished themselves as pilots of fighter type aircraft in China during World War II, participating in fifty combat missions. They are credited with inflicting heavy losses in the enemy in material and personnel, although their missions frequently extended into areas where the enemy maintained numerically superior aerial forces. Fire from enemy ground installations and hostile aircraft was encountered on many flights, but these pilots carried out their assigned tasks with efficiency and coolness. The courage and determination exhibited by these pilots reflect great credit on themselves and are consonant with the finest traditions of the Army Air Forces.
