The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Air Corps) Howard C. Henry, Jr., United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a pilot with the 66th Bombardment Squadron, 44th Bombardment Group, from 11 June 1944 to 22 February 1945. Captain Henry exhibited outstanding airmanship and courage on 32 combat missions, several as the lead aircraft against the enemy in the European Theater of Operations. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Henry reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
