The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Technical Sergeant Robert B. Davis, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-l30 Flight Engineer on 7 and 8 March 1968. On those dates, Sergeant Davis was flying on an armed reconnaissance combat mission against hostile forces. With great determination and superior airmanship he performed his engineering duties on an extremely hazardous mission through areas of intense antiaircraft fire. Through the skill and truly professional efforts of Sergeant Davis a large volume of hostile forces’ supplies and vehicles were destroyed. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Davis reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
