    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting a Second Gold Star in lieu of a Third Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Frederick H. B. Ehrenreich (MCSN: 0-12737), United States Marine Corps Reserve, for heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight as Pilot of a Transport Plane in Marine Utility Squadron ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-THREE during operations against enemy Japanese forces in the Solomon Islands Area, on 24 March 1944. Completing his sixtieth combat mission on this date. Captain Ehrenreich contributed materially to the success of his squadron. His devotion to duty was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
