The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Second Lieutenant (Air Corps) Harry W. Peters, Jr., United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight over territory in Burma and China between 15 September 1944 to 22 December 1944 where exposure to enemy fire was probable and expected. Flying in unarmed cargo aircraft through instrument weather over hazardous terrain, these pilots and crew members brought equipment and supplies to the forward areas. Their devotion to duty and degree of efficiency, above and beyond that normally expected, reflect great credit on themselves and on the Army Air Force of the United States.
