The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Waldemar D. Krueger, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 pilot in Southeast Asia on 12 November 1969. On that date while participating in a rescue attempt of two downed pilots, Major Krueger repeatedly exposed himself and his aircraft to intense hostile ground fire in order to deliver his badly needed ordnance. Upon completion of his primary task, Major Krueger again faced hostile fire in a successful attempt to suppress it. The outstanding airmanship displayed by Major Krueger aided immeasurably against the hostile force. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
