The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Technical Sergeant Leonard J. Foret, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-123 Flight Engineer in Southeast Asia on 14 October 1970. On that date he volunteered to fly an extremely hazardous night combat mission while participating in a sensitive top secret operation directed by a staff agency of the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. His outstanding airmanship was a critical factor in the successful completion of this important combat mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Foret reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
