Brown, United States Army, for heroism while participating in aerial flight evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Warrant Officer Brown distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions on 1 May 1970 in the Republic of Cambodia. When the troop-carrying aircraft came under intense hostile fire, Warrant Officer Brown immediately attacked the enemy positions. He then maneuvered his gunship between the hostiles and the unarmed helicopters in order to draw fire away from the defenseless aircrafts. His outstanding flying ability and devotion to duty is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
