The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Eugene C. Adee, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D pilot near Dak Seang and Dak Pek Special Forces Camps, Republic of Vietnam, from 6 April 1970 to 2 May 1970. During this period, Lieutenant Adee flew ten strike missions in direct support of the besieged camps. Lieutenant Adee’s precise coordination of his flights’ attacks and his unwavering determination to accurately deliver his ordnance, despite intense ground fire, contributed significantly to the successful defense of the camps. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Adee reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
