(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Major Arthur L. Sidereas, United States Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force while serving as an F-4C Pilot of the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, DaNang Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, in action against the enemy over North Vietnam on 18 January 1968. On that date Major Sidereas destroyed hostile antiaircraft guns to allow air rescue of a downed airman. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Air Force.
