After serving in the Army Air Forces in World War II, Charles Wilson left the service in 1946 and became a member of the Reserves while attending Southern Methodist University, where he graduated in 1950. Recalled to active duty in 1951, he retired in 1980 as a U.S. Air Force Major General.
