Curtis Williams enlisted under the delayed enlistment program at 17 and spent over 7 years on active duty. He left active duty in 1984 and entered the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas. Upon graduation, he was commissioned in 1986. In 2013 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, and in 2016 he received his second star as a Major General.
