    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) to Second Lieutenant (Field Artillery) Ralph Elmer Curtis (ASN: 0-957295), United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a member of Battery B, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, 2d Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy from 6 September 1950 to 7 September 1950, in Korea. Second Lieutenant Curtis’ outstanding courage and dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
