Charles Veatch received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Illinois, 1942, and entered service in the Navy in 1943 after completing his residency, serving throughout World War II. Discharged in 1946 he entered private practice while serving as a member of the Missouri Air National Guard. He returned to active duty in the Air Force in 1951, and retired in 1975 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
