Mason Whitney served as a command pilot with more than 6,000 military flight hours, completed 343 combat missions and 758 combat hours in Vietnam, before serving in the National Guard. After serving as The Adjutant General of Colorado, he retired in 2007 as a U.S. Air Force Major General.
