(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Colonel (Air Corps) Harold L. Smith, United States Army Air Forces, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander of the 11th Weather Region in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, from 1942 to 1945. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Smith and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
