(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Garryl Colledge Sipple, United States Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force while serving as an O-1E Bird Dog Pilot and Air Liaison Officer and Forward Air Controller, Quang Tri Air Base, South Vietnam, from 1965 to 1966; and subsequently as an F-4E Pilot with the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, from 1971 to 1972. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Air Force.
