Jay Silveria graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado, Class of 1985. In 2010 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, and in 2014 he received his second star as a Major General. As a Lieutenant General, in 2017 he became the 20th Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He retired in 2020 as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General.
