Marc Sasseville graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado, Class of 1985. On September 11, 2001, he was the acting operations group commander under the 113th Wing of the Washington, D.C. Air National Guard. He was one of four pilots given the mission of finding United Flight 93 and destroying it, even if it meant ramming the plane. In 2019 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General.
