(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Second Lieutenant Len Cyrus Russell (AFSN: AO-2224614), United States Air Force, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as an F-86 Fighter Pilot of the 334th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing, in action over North Korea on 12 April 1953. On this date, Lieutenant Russell destroyed one enemy MiG type aircraft in aerial combat. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
