After serving as an enlisted gunner n the Army Air Forces in World War II, Billy Rogers left active duty after the war to attend Arkansas State University. He returned to the Air Force in 1950, receiving his commission through the Officer Candidate School. He retired in 1973 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
