Edward Rodriguez was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1966 upon graduation from Georgetown University. He entered active duty in 1970 after attending law school and serving as a clerk to a federal judge. During his four years on active duty, he was an assistant staff judge advocate in Michigan and South Vietnam. He retired in 1999 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
