Robert Condon enlisted in the Army as a private and served with the 35th Division in France during World War I, achieving the rank of sergeant and ultimately was commissioned in 1918 as a second Lieutenant. After serving in the Army Air Forces in World War II, he retired in 1946 as an Army Air Forces Colonel. Recalled to duty in 1951, he served three more years of active duty and retired as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
