(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Second Lieutenant Kerry Anderson Crooks, United States Air Force, was awarded the Airman’s Medal for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with the 24th Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron, in the aftermath of the crash of Cobra Ball 664 at Shemya, an island near the western tip of the Aleutians, Alaska, on 15 March 1981.
