(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Gavin Johnson, United States Air Force, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat “V” for heroism while participating in aerial flight in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan, in 2012. Under direct enemy fire he helped rescue critically wounded coalition soldiers. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
