(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Colonel John R. Paulk, United States Air Force, was awarded a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as Senior Operations Advisor to the 516th Vietnamese Fighter Squadron, DaNang Air Base, in 1965; and subsequently as Operations Officer and Commander of the 435th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, from 1969 to 1970, in action against the enemy over Southeast Asia. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
