Bradley Heitold enlisted in the Air Force in 19874, serving as an unlisted man before he was commissioned in 1981 through the Reserve Officer Training Course at the University of Arkansas. In 2006 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General. He received his second star in 2008, and in 2011 received his third star as a Lieutenant General.
