Morton Gold entered military service in 1941, serving in all branches of the Armed Forces beginning with the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps, then the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and in 1949 in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1973 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
