John Dolan was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1986 upon graduation from the University of Northern Colorado. In 2012 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General; he received his second star in March 2015, and his third star as a Lieutenant General in June 2015.
