Darryl Burke was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1983 upon graduation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2009 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier, and received his second star as a Major General in 2012.
