The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel Gerald M. Spurlock, United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States with the Far East Air Forces in Korea, from 7 February 1950 to 10 January 1953. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Spurlock reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force. [This award supercedes the award of the Bronze Star Medal to Colonel Spurlock published in General Orders No. 91, Headquarters, 315th Air Division (Combat Cargo), APO 959, dated 14 July 1951.]
