The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel John D. Howe, United States Air Force, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States with the Far East Air Forces in Korea, from 28 June 1950 to 25 November 1950. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Howe reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
