Edward Czarnecki joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in December 1941, and in May 1942, enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. During World War II, he became a U.S. Army Air Forces ACE, credited with shooting down 6 enemy aircraft in aerial combat.
