During World War II, Meade Brown became a U.S. Army Air Forces ACE, credited with shooting down 6 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. Flying a P-51 fighter during the Korean War, he was killed in action on August 24, 1950, becoming one of the U.S. Air Force’s first casualties of that war.
