Staff Sergeant Lawrence L. Rai-Es (ASN: 6998547), United States Army Air Forces, was captured after the fall of the Philippine Islands on or about May 7, 1942 and was held by the Japanese as a prisoner of War until his return to U.S. Military control at the end of hostilities in 1945.
