The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Award) to Private First Class Willie A. Crenshaw (MCSN: 1091559), United States Marine Corps, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity as a member of Company E, Second Battalion, First Marines, FIRST Marine Division (Reinforced), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea during the period 29 November 1950 to 4 December 1950. His actions contributed materially to the successful break-through of United Nations troops in the Chosin reservoir area and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.
