The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to First Sergeant Charles Taylor, United States Army, for gallantry in action on 17 July 1882, while serving with Company D, 3d U.S. Cavalry, in action at Big Dry Wash, Arizona Territory.
