The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Stanley A. Blazewicz (MCSN: 622857), United States Marine Corps, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity while serving as an Assistant Gunner in a 75-mm. Recoilless Rifle Platoon of an Anti-Tank Company of the Seventh Marines, FIRST Marine Division (Reinforced), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea on 4 November 1950. Remaining in an exposed position at his gun during a vicious attack by an enemy force estimated at company strength and supported by four tanks, Private First Class Blazewicz continued fighting until his gun was put out of action by hostile fire. On his own initiative, he then carried the remaining ammunition across open, fire-swept terrain to an adjacent gun, making numerous trips under intense fire until the enemy force was annihilated and the tanks destroyed. His superb courage, valiant fighting spirit and unwavering devotion to duty in the face of heavy odds reflect great credit upon Private First Class Blazewicz and the United States Naval Service.
