Alexander Padilla is listed as Missing in Action, however after his aircraft was shot down, he was observed by other pilots to be alive on the ground, injured, and surrendering to enemy soldiers. He was not among those returned at the wars end, and is believed to have died or been killed in captivity. His remains have never been recovered.
