Joseph Long is listed as Missing in Action, however during the war radio propaganda broadcasts and other reports indicate he survived the crash of his airplane, was captured, and held as a Prisoner of War. The Air Force concluded, “The information pertaining to reports of Capt Long being a POW is probably true.”
