Although Winifred George is officially listed as “Missing in Action,” the Air Force concluded that he was captured alive but injured, and died at the hospital, Camp No. 1, Chong Song, while a Prisoner of War.

    Master Sergeant Winifred Robert George (AFSN: 14140942), United States Air Force, was captured by communist forces after he was shot down over North Korea on 28 December 1950, and was held as a Prisoner of War until his death while still in captivity.
