    First Lieutenant Walter L. Doerty (AFSN: 0-1908527), United States Air Force, was captured by communist forces while working on the ground as a Forward Air Controller with a South Korean Army unit in May 1951, and was held as a Prisoner of War until his release on 2 September 1953, during Operation Big Switch at the end of the war.
