The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Legion of Merit to Brigadier General Edgar Alexander Sirmyer (AFSN: 394A), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Deputy Commander of the U.S. Air Force Security Service with headquarters at San Antonio, Texas, during the period from 1 April 1953 to 15 August 1956. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Sirmyer and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
