The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant James Harry Hall (AFSN: 0-81328), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Pilot over North Vietnam on 6 November 1967. On that date, Lieutenant Hall was flying a combat support mission against an isolated vital military target in the vicinity of Hanoi. In the face of overwhelming ground fire and five surface-to-air missiles tracking on his flight, Lieutenant Hall pressed the attack and delivered all of his ordnance on the target with outstanding accuracy. As a result of Lieutenant Hall’s outstanding performance, a vital supply route was successfully interdicted, allowing the flow of material to the South. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Hall reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
