Arick (MCSN: 0-84196), United States Marine Corps, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Pilot with Marine Observation Squadron SIX (VMO-6), FIRST Marine Aircraft Wing, in Southeast Asia on 4 October 1966.
