During a bitterly fought engagement with the enemy, Captain Paulick left the comparative safety of an observation post and proceeded through terrain under intense enemy artillery fire to the aid of a wounded soldier. His dauntless courage won him the admiration and respect of the men he led. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Captain Paulick, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
